Five easy steps to becoming a volunteer for Arts Uplift

  1. Check out the volunteer roles below
  2. Complete a Volunteer Expression of Interest Form
  3. Meet/Speak to a member of the friendly Arts Uplift team
  4. Receive all the induction information, complete all safeguarding checks and complete any necessary training
  5. Begin your volunter journey at one of our projects

Arts and heritage workshop support

Support our artists in arts and heritage workshops with befriending participants (all ages), helping with refreshments, paperwork and joining in! This could be helping someone living with dementia or a young person with an additional need. Travel expenses paid subject to funding.

Skills needed

  • Happy to work as part of a team
  • A good listener
  • Flexible
  • Enthusiasm for arts and heritage
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable with good time-keeping skills
  • Experience working with a wide range of people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities 
  • Experience of working with diverse and less well-accessed communities and cultural organisations, understanding potential barriers   

 

Administration support

Support us from your home by helping us with our website, marketing and social media, fundraising, financial, business planning/development, evaluation or put on a fundraising event! Or just let us know how you think you might be able to help us.

Social work or arts students mentoring

Subject to funding we will try and build in student mentoring when we can on our projects.

If you are a music, drama, visual art or dance student and want to find out more about community arts, health and heritage then get in contact.

You can always shadow artists running sessions or observe what we do!
